I think I may make this a recurring post on my blog. Don't you just feel so much better after reading something that makes you feel good? I love how it makes me stop and think about how great my life is. I found this one on Pinterest (big surprise there! I am such a Pinterest junky now...) and really, who doesn't just love Audrey Hepburn???
I LOVE this. Laughing is not only the best calorie burner, but it is also the best way I know to relieve stress, to relax and to make you feel good. On that subject (and I'm not being paid to promote this, either) if anyone is looking for a movie that will just make you feel happy, go see "We Bought a Zoo". It's my new favourite movie.
For the art side of this post, this week I've been experimenting with my new style of painting. I call it free-flowing (and messy!) and I really like the look. Here are three of my paintings in this style:
The "let's use up all the paint on my palette" painting
| Watercolour on 8x12 watercolour paper |
8x12 Acrylic on canvas board
|
Thanks for visiting today.
Have a great week!

ReplyDeleteI visited your blog today - I saw you on 'Town and Prarie.' Your blog is so pretty, and I like all of your decorations. My middle name is Anne too, and I spell it the way you do. I wanted to tell you that I have this exact same picture in my bedroom. It is my favorite picture of Audrey. I just love it. Me and my daughters started a blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. I would enjoy coming back to visit with you. Your blog is so charming. I hope to hear from you, and have a lovely weekend.

ReplyDeletehow lovely, anne. The free flowing painting makes you paint effortlessly and the result is beautiful. I am loving it especially the after a storm painting.
ReplyDeleteHi Anne, I like these new artworks! Framing does give any artwork that extra degree of polish, as you demonstrate perfectly with your picture of the grey clouds. Love the Audrey Hepburn quote! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI like your free style paintings... especially the clouds. Thanks for stopping by! Cheers!

PS: I love A.H..she is a true beauty inside and out!
I really love your free flowing style. I am trying to become looser with what I do. It doesn't seem to be coming easily but maybe with practice. I definitely enjoyed your quote. It would be a great one to start each day with.
ReplyDeleteJust popping in from Paint Party Friday. Love your style.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the quote.
looks great framed!
ReplyDeleteI am a firm believer in free-style and messy, but your work is not at all messy. This style really sings to me and I love what you have done....
ReplyDeleteKeep it up...this style suits you!

Great quote, it really does put a smile on your face. I love your free-style paintings, especially the flowers. They look so soft and misty, like you are looking through a foggy window.
ReplyDeleteMy Jeff and I love lightning storms too! We always stand outside under the porch ( might not be too smart!) to feel the energy of the storm mounting! In Sedona we use to get double rainbows after a storm, that was pure magic!!! Your paintings are brilliant! I love the softness of the first one! Thanks for the wonderful Audrey Hepburn pic and quote, wow, now those are thoughts to make ya smile!!! Hugs, Deb
ReplyDeleteGreat quote! I think your watercolor flowers would make really pretty stationery. The landscape looks great framed!
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous, Anne. The new style is beautiful. I like the flowers, soft and lovely, and I am wowed by the effect that framing had on the acrylics piece. That sky is awesome. Thanks for visiting me. I do appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteOh I love her quote and your new messy style!
ReplyDeleteI love the dark before the storm sky too!

Beautiful quote, and your new style looks great.
ReplyDeleteMiss Hepburn always has such style. LUV the quote. Couldn't agree more. I really like the new painting style, too. It reminds me of looking through wavy glass. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove the free flowing style! I too love making a mess and the art that comes from it!
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this post? I love your "free-flowing, messy" style of painting! They're beautiful, as always. You're a woman of many talents! And we loved the movie "We bought a zoo" too. It's awesome. Now I'm in the mood to see it again. Will have to see if we can remedy that! :)
