Just a few more paintings to add to the ever growing stash in my studio. I really enjoy painting the sea and the sky. I guess that's why I can't get enough of these sailboat paintings!!!

I love the grey, black and blue together, it's stormy and calming all at the same time. If you want to see the other sailboats I painted, click HERE
And I had to have another go at painting the sunflower that so inspired me a few weeks ago. This one is softer and a paler yellow.

not sure if I like it with a white mat or a black one
I do love this sunflower, though.
Have a happy week!

Pretty paintings, Anne - especially love the sailboats :-) I think I prefer the sunflower with the white mat. It looks lighter and more cheery :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, my favorite is the sunflower, Anne. Isn't it interesting how changing out a mat can change the looks of a painting? On my husand's laptop (which I'm using right now) the white mat looks lavender. I'm guessing the white mat looks really good.
ReplyDeleteAnne you're a wonderful painter! Your paintings have movement in them. I don't know how you do that. But all three of these have that sense! So cool!
ReplyDeleteI think the black mat would look awesome in a room with b/w's up against a b/w chevron painted wall! The white mat would look amazing in a kitchen or mud room!

Anne, you're so right about the sailboat paintings being stormy but calming at the same time. Reminds me of the feeling I get during a big thunder storm. Love it. And I can hardly believe the difference a mat makes, depending on the color. I like them both, and can see them each serving a different purpose in a room design. Well done, as always!

You are very talented, sweet Anne, the sunflower jumps out of the picture in happy yellow flames!
ReplyDeleteHi Anne, Good luck with selling your artwork. I love sailboats too and have a small collection of toy boats. What about a rough linen or burlap mat for the sunflower? I bet it would look terrific.
ReplyDeleteI like it with the black mat, of course I love black and white:) Beautiful sailboats too!
ReplyDeleteThat sailboat is so pretty with all the shades of blue! I love it! Are you taking on commissioned work yet??
