Shabby Chic Meets French Country

I finished decorating my bedroom! Wow, it's been a long time coming but I finally found the perfect bed linens to match the aqua/blue accents.

The room makeover began with all the walls being painted with Benjamin Moore Lenox Tan (LOVE that colour!!). Then I painted all the furniture because I was tired of the mismatched wood.

Here's the look after I painted the walls and furniture.

BEFORE (ish)

Then it started to feel too bland, so I swapped out my writing table for one painted aqua.

I built a headboard from a vintage 5 paneled door I got at a yard sale and painted it to match the writing table.

I found a tallboy at a yard sale and added faux drawer fronts to make it look like an Apothecary cabinet.

I painted all the trim, installed a chandelier and moved the furniture around a bit more.  To gain a bit more space for furniture, I gave up using the cheater door to the main bathroom.

I also decided to run the drapes all across the wall behind the bed.  Just as I was losing hope at finding the perfect quilt and shams Target opened and I found Rachel Ashwell's Ikat collection. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

    1. It is attached to the bed frame. I used carriage bolts to hold the headboard legs to the frame
