Hooked on Stripes

Stripes, I love them. I seem to be getting more hooked as time goes by.

I was scrolling through my blog photo folders the other day and I began to notice just how many stripes I've painted this year. And I just finished two more striped pieces. Are you as hooked as I am? Grain stripes, beaded board stripes, striped stripes - they're EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!

It began innocently enough, I made a little sign for my laundry room and painted it up all pretty:

Then of course, there was the grain sack striped bedroom that inspired my grain sack striped shelf desk and chair.

I needed a cute solution to storing some tools in my mudroom, so I painted up an old crate & added some wheels.

And things just blew up from there...

I decided to give a little more oomph to my bathroom vanity

And then I moved into another bathroom to dress up a plain jane shelving unit I have in there.

Then I went whole hog on it and painted the doors to match:

Although I didn't really like this look very much, a little TOO faux if you know what I mean.  Now it looks like this:

I dry brushed white over the painted stripes to tone them down a bit.

Then I painted my bistro chair in stripes too, just because...

I moved into my laundry room and painted grain stripes on the doors that I had put on the storage tower:

and my potting bench/folding table/work bench didn't escape my attention either

So there you have it.  Anybody else losing it over stripes?  Can you tell I love blue & white?  Just a little?

Thanks for visiting, have a great day!

  7. Girl, you change stuff a lot!! Always for the better too! I like stripes, but for some strange (to me) reason, I have lately been enamored with polka dots. Go figure!

  16. Love it all, Anne!

I have a thing for blue and white stripes too. I've done two striped ceiling.

I bought some paint for my new project, and I'm preparing to paint a table gray and white stripes. Though the base on my table is metal, the top of the table that I've had for years is planked the long way, and oddly I was going to use it in the laundry room!

  26. You do stripes very well, I'm afraid mine would be all wonky. I do love a stripe and always tend to put some in every room that I do. It can be fabric, wallpaper or even painted on the wall.

  27. Love how you varied the stripes you put on your items in your home, they look fantastic, love your blog. Now I need to do stripes on something. Will have to peruse my furniture to see what would look good with them.
I have a little round table I bought, maybe paint it in aqua blue with apple green and white, what do you think. When I bought the table I intended to paint it but have been mulling over what color/colors to do it in. Hope I can do my stripes as nicely as you did all of yours. Happy week.
